goto your own Flickr and see that you have all 20 photos posted.

#1- Selfie (when & what camera did you take it with?)

#2-13 (quiz #2) example of element and design principles of ART

#14-17 Photography (lighting hard, soft, transmitted and reflected). pick the best one out of 3 for each type of light.

#18 - Miss Wang's setting on project 1 - hard lighting on a still life.

#19 - Your adjusted setting on Project 1 - what did you change?

#20 - Post edit of your project one in Photoshop.

Each Photo is one percent of your report card grade.

Post Processing and Write up for Project 1: Value of Light on Still Life.

After you transfer your (.NEF & .JPG) files from the SD card to your folder.

Open the your Picture (.NEF format) in Photoshop via Bridge. Then look for the lens (Open in RAW)

you should get this screen....

adjust the setting to bring out the texture of the wall or in Project 1: the Value of Light... hi-light to black..

Do OPEN IMAGE to go back to Photoshop.

and Save your file as YOUR NAME Project 1.jpg Upload this as Flickr picture #20.

how do you adjust the following on your DSLR

IMAGE quality and ISO from the Menu

explain what is ISO give examples

explain what is APERATURE , how to set it on the camera and give example

explain what is SHUTTER SPEED , how to set it on the camera and give example

We are currently on a Table checkout rotation...
Each person will get a chance at the camera to do assignment with the DSLR checked out for 1 school day.

we already had an incident of someone leaving the camera at the college office... but what if you left it on the subway? or if someone else took it and did not return it? That would be $500 out of your pocket...

I think we should invest in a TRACKING device like the "tile" https://www.thetileapp.com/

What do you think?... The next person that does not follow the DSLR camera checkout agreement will be "FINED" a tile ($25) if you are lucky to recover it or buy the replacement camera.

15 common questions for a beginner photographer 

lighting set up

   
Last Fri Lesson 1 was added to PPT#3 slide 1.... please read and understand the 6 component that is PHOTOGRAPHY.

For this TEST project you have to shoot your " art piece" in Manual mode only.

set the camera in the following setting!

In Menu: set the image quality to RAW (NEF) + Basic or fine  and the ISO to 400 (light sensitivity).

In Aperture Mode : Adjust the f-stop to F5.6

In Shutter Speed Mode: Adjust the shutter speed or exposure to 1/250sec

Take one in this setting. if the picture comes out too bright or too dark. you may make adjustments to obtain a properly exposed photo without flash.

Upload JPG to Flikr.com as pic #18-19

 Part 2: Post retouching with PHOTOSHOP

After you upload your photo to your computer.

open Photoshop and look for BR or Bridge to locate your NEF file.
open NEF (RAW) file in Photoshop. in the open camera  RAW editor. (watch video )

make your adjustment. like Exposure - fill in the light - add the black... etc.

when you are done. OPEN IMAGE and save in JPG so you can upload this as Pic #20 on Flikr.com
