2nd Marking Period - Exposure triangle explored

We just had a project using Hard light, so now lets try SOFT lighting Portraits...

Notice the use of the reflector with an assistant.

Take 2 pictures with your classmates... upload the picture you took onto your Flickr as # 31 no Reflector and # 32 with Reflector on the face...

1st marking period ends today (Flickr update)

Please complete the test with write up ( go to pupilpath to download the Test# 1 report template.., and print out your Test with the 3 powerpoints attach to it to complete the 1st marking period packet.

when you are done with that update your flickr by making an album "MP1" and arrange your photos in numerical order # 1-30c send link when done. (did you complete the FOOD story?make an album for that too)

MP1= PPT # 1,2,3, Quiz, Test and 33 pictures in Flickr.

 Part 2: Post retouching with PHOTOSHOP

After you upload your photo to your computer.

open Photoshop and look for BR or Bridge to locate your NEF file. ( Canon just jpg)
open NEF (RAW) file in Photoshop. in the open camera  RAW editor. (watch video )

make your adjustment. like Exposure - fill in the light - add the black... etc.

when you are done. OPEN IMAGE and save in JPG so you can upload this as Pic #30c on Flikr.com

Part 3: Write up (printed) & Present Flickr in class.
using the lesson 1 handout as a guide line. talk about all the technical aspect to create this Still life project.
making sure you include. ISO, F-stop, exposure and focal length.

Write Up: (How were you able to create the Value of light in this photo?)
What SD card did you use for the test? Explain how this Photo is an art work. 
Does it contain an element of art? What about its Design principle?
How did you set up the lighting for this photo-shoot? what kind of lighting did you use? 
What did you find / learn from this art Project?

please read and understand the 6 component that is PHOTOGRAPHY.

For this TEST project you have to shoot your " art piece" in Manual mode only.

set the camera in the following setting!

In Menu: set the image quality to RAW (NEF/CR2) + fine / L  and the ISO to 200 (light sensitivity).

In Aperture Mode : Adjust the f-stop to F/6.3

In Shutter Speed Mode: Adjust the shutter speed or exposure to 1/125 sec

Take one in this setting. if the picture comes out too bright or too dark. you may NEED to make some adjustments to obtain a properly exposed photo without flash.

Upload JPG to Flikr.com as pic #30a,30b

Sorry I will be out again today... so the PPT#2 presentation will take place on Monday instead.

Please watch the 1st half of this video (6 mins) and write a short essay response for today's attendance.

If I don't receive a video reflection from you via email by the end of the period, you must be busy with PPT# 2 still. So by Monday you will be volunteering to present your PPT#2 first.
