check yourself... answer to 5/28's Photo
most of you did good yesterday with the sisters.
1. What is the subject? (the couple) which art element does it convey? (shape/form- humans)
2. How is it lit? (although it was outsidethey were under the tree's shadow) what type of light do you see? (due to even spread of light throughout- it was soft light).
3. Where is the subject placed in the picture? (the couple was laying down embracing each other, surrounded by the tree roots). what composition do you see? framing
4. How would you set the camera up for a similar shot? (Iso 400 - low because we want details, not pixalated, aperture and background are the same focus- f/32 with small opening, to get everything in focus; slow shutter speed, shorter time at 1/100 sec because it will allow more lights in due to small aperture (opening); and lastly, focal length was zoomed out at 20mm).
5. What is the message you get from looking at the picture? (wedding couple embraced, and framed in with the tree roots - LOVE).

Today try this one....
Critique picture #4

continue with your Composition ABC this weekend... should be done by Wed. next week! google photo album #81-106

most of you did good yesterday with the sisters.
1. What is the subject? (2 girls) which art element does it convey? (shape/form- humans)
2. How is it lit? (it was slight dimly lit for being inside from side windows) what type of light do you see? (due to even-toned with shadow cast to show the direction of light- it was soft light).
3. Where is the subject placed in the picture? (the sisters was laying down opposite of each other balancing each other out). what composition do you see? balancing elements.
4. How would you set the camera up for a similar shot? (Iso 400 - low because we want details, not pixalated, aperture and background are the same focus- f/8 with medium opening; slow shutter speed, longer time at 1/100 sec because it will allow more lights in due to be indoor lighting; and lastly, focal length was zoomed in at 45mm).
5. What is the message you get from looking at the picture? (sisterhood, or just similar yet different, note the open vs. closed eyes - but mostly just calm and serenity or relaxed in another word - chill).

most of you did good yesterday with the yellow sunflower.
1. What is the subject? (sunflower) which art element does it convey? (Color- yellow)
2. How is it lit? (it was brightly lit for the noon sun outside from top-down) what type of light do you see? (due to high intensity - it was hard light).
3. Where is the subject placed in the picture? (the flower was placed off-centered to the left 1/3 side). what composition do you see? rule of third.
4. How would you set the camera up for a similar shot? (ISO 100 - low because it was bright, aperture with blurry background - f/5.6 with large opening; fast shutter speed, shorter time at 1/250 sec because it was so bright; and lastly, focal length was zoomed in at 55mm).
5. What is the message you get from looking at the picture? (the bright and yellow color usually denotes happiness, vibrant and alive).

Daguerreotype [dəˈɡerəˌtīp]

Daguerreotype
The daguerreotype (/dəˈɡɛr(i)ətaɪp, -r(i)oʊ-/; French: daguerréotype) process, or daguerreotypy, was the first publicly available photographic process, widely used during the 1840s and 1850s. Invented by Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre and introduced worldwide in 1839, daguerreotype was almost completely superseded by 1860 with new, less expensive processes yielding more readily viewable images. There was a revival of daguerreotypy in the late 20th century by a small number of photographers interested in making artistic use of early photographic processes.
